This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of carbon finance and the mechanisms for trading carbon credits. Participants will learn about the basics of climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and the role of carbon markets in mitigating climate change. Through lectures, case studies, and practical exercises, participants will explore the concepts of carbon finance, carbon offsetting, and carbon trading, as well as the opportunities and challenges associated with these mechanisms.

This course would treat the essentials of climate science and climate change from human society perspectives. The course examines climate change, its drivers, underlying science, impacts and related-policy and technological responses. Climate change is discussed from the natural and social science perspectives and situated within the context of sustainable development. The course, which is targeted at policy professionals and decision-makers in the private and public sectors is divided into appropriate modules.
